Invited to Speak at the UK Parliament
Shelly Mittal at the historic UK Parliament during the The AI Summit London 2025
Last week I had the privilege of spending the day at the UK Parliament. During my time working in London this summer, I was invited to attend an AI summit at the House of Commons. It felt surreal to walk through a place so steeped in history while discussing the future of technology.
As someone who has always admired Winston Churchill, I was struck by the weight of history in those halls. Centuries of debates and decisions linger in every room, and yet our focus that day was on what lies ahead: how artificial intelligence will evolve, and how we can think about regulation that protects society while encouraging innovation.
We heard from inspiring voices, including CFTC Commissioner Caroline D. Pham, members of government, and leaders from family offices who are deeply engaged in where AI is headed. To have Prime Minister Keir Starmer stop by underscored how significant these conversations are becoming at the highest levels.
The day was a reminder that history and progress are never separate. They meet in places like Parliament, where decisions shape both the present and the future. I left grateful not only for the insights shared but also for the opportunity to reflect on how far we have come and where we are going.
